Dunlop’s Charity Open Day
                                                                                                            April 2005

On Sunday 29th May, Gainsborough Stables; home of Ed Dunlop, Ouija Board; and      a new ECB Equine Spa; will open its gates to the public for a charity open day.

This will be an opportunity to take a look ‘behind the scenes’ of one of the largest and well equipped yards in Newmarket. During the day you can see our state of the art facilities, horse swimming and shoeing demonstrations and visit the ECB Stand and Spa. There will be something for all the family, with entertainment for the children, trade stands, food and drink stalls; ensuring that there will be plenty for you to see and do on your visit to Gainsborough Stables.

All the proceeds from the day will go to charity, and on this occasion we have chosen to support two very worthy causes; Racing Welfare and The Brooke Hospital.

Racing Welfare is the only charity which provides support for people within the racing industry who suffer falls or injuries. This can result in immediate long-term disability, or premature arthritis, and rheumatism, ending up in early retirement. Their annual outgoings are now nearly £1 million and they rely purely on fundraising events and donations. For more information on this cause go to www.racingwelfare.co.uk

The Brooke relieves the suffering of horses, donkeys and mules working for poor people in the developing world. Their dedicated local vets and teams provide free care, education and training in the heart of the communities they serve in Egypt, India, Jordan and Pakistan. Their aim is to reach millions of working horses and donkeys suffering pain and distress wherever the need is greatest with their proven, sustainable solutions. For more information on this cause go to www.thebrooke.org

Admission:

£5 per person, though children under 6 and OAP’s are half price.
